It is uncertain whether Thomas Chippendale or his son supplied this set of fourteen chairs and two sofas for the White Drawing Room. Chippendale Junior did supply a number of pieces to Harewood in 1796 and we know that he had been trained up to run the business before his father died in 1779.
These chairs are very much in the Louis XVI style and are strikingly different to the majority of chairs definitely attributed to Chippendale Senior. They were definitely supplied by the Chippendale firm, but it is debatable whether they were designed by the father or son.
