Garden Seat
1774
The Earl & Countess of Harewood, & the Trustees of the Harewood House Trust

Although probably made by local craftsmen, this is the only known garden seat designed by Chippendale. Three surviving large-scale working drawings, almost certainly by Chippendale, correspond exactly with this seat and can be seen here. As well as two large-scale drawings for three tables and one for a staircase lamp, these are the only drawings of their kind, associated with Chippendale, to survive and are an important record of Chippendale providing drawings for provincial craftsmen.
