Chair
1770
The Earl & Countess of Harewood, & the Trustees of the Harewood House Trust

From a set of '6 Mahogany Armed Chairs covered in Red Leather' and made for the billiard room in the basement, only three remain in the house. Although they are relatively plain in design, reflecting the more informal use of the room, they do correspond to a set made for the White Drawing Room (now the Cinnammon Drawing Room), which were upholstered in white taberay and the frames entirely gilded.
