The 1795 inventory records '2 Face Screen Stands White & Gold' in the Circular Dressing Room and nine more in a closet. Walter Scarlett Davis's watercolour of the gallery, dated 1827, also illustrates a number of similar screens set before the fireplace. They were probably dispersed throughout the whole house.
