Fun for Families

Fun for Families

We support learning through broad and diverse means, including providing resources and activities to make learning fun for family groups visiting Harewood.

Holiday activities
Throughout most school holidays we provide craft activities for families linked to out current exhibition programme. During the past year we have created:

• African drums and masks
• Penguin badges and door hangers
• Moon buggies
• Easter crafts
• Autumn Church banners
• Tea-Light Lanterns

We have fed the birds with pinecone birdfeeders; and generally glued, glittered and designed all manner of items, taking inspiration from Harewood and its surroundings.

This year we are planning a variety of Chinese themed activities as part of 'China at Harewood 2008' - including lotus flower and boat origami, stupa model making, flag and banner making, team emblems, dragon puppets, calligraphy, Chinese finger puppets, glitter sand mandalas and much more. Please visit our events page for details.

Trails
We have a number of trails in the House and the grounds (also available to download below), including:

• The Chippendale Trail
• The Treasure Trail
• The Red Kite Trail
• The Trees Trail
• The Lake Trail
• The Old Kitchen to Walled Garden Trail

In Below Stairs there is plenty to do with dressing up costumes so you can pretend to be a servant here in Victorian times, computer games to play, and objects for you to handle.

Have fun!
